Dear Friend:

In this week of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for all of those in D.C. who have stepped up to help members of our community who are in need. I am grateful for the people and organizations that do this work year-round, often without recognition and with increasingly limited resources. 

This past week, I was humbled to participate in multiple Thanksgiving celebrations, including Thanksgiving on the Inside at the D.C. Jail, where incarcerated parents had the opportunity to share a holiday meal with their children. This event is sponsored by the Hope Foundation Re-Entry Network (HFRN). HFRS provides transformational programs to incarcerated adults and youth with the goal of reducing recidivism.
