On my first day in office, I declared a State of Emergency on Homelessness because it was clear that Los Angeles needed to act with urgency and compassion.

Since then, we’ve worked tirelessly through programs like Inside Safe to bring our unhoused neighbors indoors. And for the first time in decades, we’re getting real results.

We’ve now seen two consecutive years of reductions in street homelessness, including a 17% drop citywide.

That’s thousands of Angelenos who are sleeping in beds instead of on sidewalks. Lives are being changed, they’re finding hope again, and they’re safe.

Progress like this never happens by accident — and we can’t slow down now. Our teams are still on the ground every day, resolving encampments, supporting residents living in RVs, and reclaiming spaces that have been neglected for too long.
