Folks are working their asses off, friend.

They’re working harder than ever, but their wages are still flat.

Meanwhile, corporate profits are up, executive salaries are up, and the number of stock buybacks continues to grow and grow.

The system is rigged, and it’s only getting worse.

I’ve spent my life fighting for the dignity of all work, so here’s the truth:

They don’t just give you fair wages, a safe workplace, and good benefits. You have to demand them. You have to fight for them.

It’s not like corporate America woke up decades ago and said, gee, folks who work more than 40 hours should get overtime pay. Nope.

We organized, we demanded labor laws that protect workers and hold Wall Street accountable, and we won those battles. But make no mistake: The fight continues.

Together, we can – and must – build a country where hard work pays off, where folks share in the wealth they create, and where working people aren’t forced to decide between paying for health care and putting food on the table.

But progress only comes when our leaders are willing to fight the powers in Washington and on Wall Street – and it’s clear that Sen. Jon Husted is not.
