Jeff Flake says Republicans are quietly moving away from Trump. Here's what that means for Arizona.

Friends,

Trump is "completely out of touch" with Americans, and Republicans are starting to migrate away from him. Don’t just take it from us, take it from Former Arizona Senator Jeff Flake.

"The president may not want to talk about the affordability crisis, but he's going to have to," Flake told CNN. "The notion that prices are down everywhere. They really aren't, and people know that."

The numbers back him up: Trump's approval is at 33% — down 10 points since March. Among Republicans, it's dropped from 81% to 68%. Among independents, it's fallen from 38% to just 25%.

As Flake put it: "In politics, migrations rarely happen all at once. They start quietly. But once the wind really changes, the movement becomes unmistakable. I believe that a migration has begun within the Republican Party."

Here's what's driving it:

  • Trump denies the affordability crisis. While Trump claims "every price is down," seven in 10 Americans say grocery bills have gone up. Six in 10 say utility costs increased.
  • The shutdown backfired. Republicans shut down the government to avoid extending healthcare subsidies. Now 24 million Americans see premiums more than doubling.
  • Trump's tariffs make it worse. His tariffs raise costs on everything from coffee to medical supplies — inflationary policies that even Republicans know are hurting families.
  • Democrats are winning by talking about affordability. Democrats won major races nationwide this month by emphasizing the cost of living, while Trump called affordability a "dead” issue.

Will you support the Arizona Democratic Party as we capitalize on this moment and flip competitive seats blue in 2026?

CHIP IN NOW

Arizona Republicans like Biggs, Crane, Ciscomani, and Schweikert have tied themselves completely to Trump. They voted for his agenda. They enabled his shutdown. They backed policies that made life more expensive.

Now, as Flake predicts, Republicans are quietly moving away from Trump as they realize he's leading them off a cliff in the midterms. We're making sure Arizona voters know which Republicans stayed with Trump all the way down — and making them pay the price in 2026.

Thank you,

AZ Dems
