John,

Texas’s gerrymander was the first in a coordinated assault by Republicans to undermine our democracy — waking the nation up to the grave threat that Trump’s redistricting crisis poses to our democracy.

The fair maps movement responded in force. From voters’ overwhelming passing of Proposition 50 in California, to a new, fair congressional map approved in Utah, to the courts blocking Texas’s new map because it’s a racial gerrymander — we’ve been fighting back every step of the way in the name of fairness, and these wins show that our strategy is working.

The fight doesn't end here. Republicans continue to do everything in their power to attack the very foundation of our democracy. Right now, map manipulators are raising money hand over fist to double down on their cynical scheme to pass even more gerrymandered maps before the midterm elections.

It’s clear: Despite their losses, Republicans aren’t easing up on the attempts to stifle the will of the people. In fact, they’re trying to come back stronger. John, the fight to protect fair representation is only going to get harder.

That’s why it’s so incredibly important to have strong grassroots support to make sure we can keep responding whenever and wherever there are attempts to unfairly — and illegally — dilute the people’s voting power. And every single donation makes a huge difference in how we’re able to fight back.

Make a donation to ensure the NDRC can keep fighting against Republican attempts to pass egregious gerrymanders nationwide. [[link removed]]
