Unlocking America's Energy Capabilities
|
In January 2024, former President Joe Biden unveiled the latest of many attacks on our domestic energy capabilities when he announced an indefinite "pause" on all pending approvals of liquefied natural gas exports, or LNG.
Not only was this decision completely unnecessary, but it was also economically and strategically dangerous. Under both Democratic and Republican administrations, the Department of Energy has consistently found that U.S. LNG exports serve the public interest – contributing positive economic benefits, strengthening energy security for the American people, creating American jobs, and reducing emissions.
This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1949, the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act of 2025, with my strong support. This legislation repeals all restrictions on the import and export of natural gas, effectively overturning the Biden-Harris Administration’s attempt to undermine U.S. domestic energy production.

Protecting Consumer Choice
|
Earlier this week, the Subcommittee on Energy advanced my legislation, the Don't Mess With My Home Appliances Act, to the full Energy and Commerce Committee.
Egregious appliance standards have caused homeowners to spend 34% more on appliances than they did 15 years ago, while having to replace them at a faster rate. The American people want choice, and these decisions should be market-driven, not government-mandated.
My legislation will implement much-needed reforms to energy efficiency standards for appliances—resulting in certainty for manufacturers and lower costs for American consumers. Watch my remarks HERE.

Socialism is one of the most destructive ideologies in world history, time and time again proving itself to be a failed experiment that only leads to communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships. It also goes against everything our Founding Fathers stood for, and we cannot allow history to be ignored and the threat of socialism to grow unchallenged in America.
On Friday, the House passed H. Con. Res. 58, introduced by Congresswoman Maria Salazar, which describes the horrors perpetrated by socialist regimes, denounces socialism in all its forms, and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States. I strongly supported this resolution and was horrified to see 98 House Democrats vote against it.

This Week's White House Highlight
|
REMINDER: With President Trump back in the White House, we are excited to add a new feature to the newsletter! Each week, I will highlight an executive action, announcement, rulemaking, bill signing, or any other activity from the Trump Administration to keep you well-informed on what's happening in Washington.
This week, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, together with Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works Adam Telle, announced a proposed rule that would establish a clear, durable, common-sense definition of “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) under the Clean Water Act.
After years of uncertainty, the EPA’s proposed WOTUS rule provides much-needed clarity—eliminating ambiguity on what defines a navigable waterway. The rule also defines what is not considered waters of the United States to prevent unelected bureaucrats from using vague definitions to overregulate. If finalized, this common-sense definition will be a win for farmers, businesses, and landowners in Georgia and across the country.
