I can honestly say, friend, that I've never felt prouder to be a Richmonder.

When I watched the statues go down last week, I realized I was witnessing history. That feeling doesn't hit you often, and it's a memory I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.

I'm also so proud of the Mayor. He got to work doing exactly what he promised — taking the steps necessary to build a more equitable city. Most of the statues are down, but the Mayor has also started the important process to reimagine public safety in Richmond. From creating a civilian review board with subpoena power to launching the Marcus Alert, the Mayor is following through on his commitments to the people of Richmond.

However, because of his bold leadership, he's getting attacked like never before. That's why I'm emailing:

We have an important mid-month deadline coming up at midnight, and we need your help to show anyone who's watching that we're ready to keep fighting for change. Will you chip in before tonight?

Some people are intimidated. They're realizing that we have a leader on our side who listens to his constituents and doesn't hesitate to act. That's become rare in American politics, and that's why our campaign is working so hard to make sure Mayor Stoney's leadership is here to stay.

Without a doubt, I know these attacks are just the beginning. That's why we need to fight harder than ever before for One Richmond.
