Things are beginning to look up in Arkansas as we have begun to reopen the economy. Read more >> John, Since we started reopening our great state’s economy in May, we’ve seen some encouraging numbers. Our unemployment rate dropped from 10.8 percent in April to 9.5 percent in May. More than 45,000 Arkansans are back at work, providing for their families. Jobs have grown across the economy. As restaurants, gyms, and recreation centers opened, we added over ten thousand jobs. Nearly ten thousand more in educational and health services as medical offices reopened. And nearly five thousand trade, transportation, and utilities. This is great news! We are proud of the way our citizens came together to help one another during the COVID-19 crisis. We’ve all heard stories from across the state about landlords not charging rent to businesses that were forced to shut down. Business owners who sacrificed greatly to avoid laying off their employees. As we continue to get back to normal, we urge every single person to continue to follow safety guidelines. If you are symptomatic, please stay home. If you are out in public and within six feet of other people, please wear your mask. Staying safe and smart will be critical as we continue to reopen our economy, and Arkansans return to work. Sincerely, The ARGOP Team P.S. As we continue to get back to normal, we want to make sure we keep Arkansas RED this November and beyond. If you can, will you chip in $5 or $10 right now to help out the Arkansas GOP and their efforts? Thanks so much!
