As our cherished and quintessentially American Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaches, America First Legal remains “on the job,” devoting ourselves to guarding the rule of law, defending parental rights, and fighting against unlawful government overreach and radical policies.
Here are this week’s highlights:

THIS WEEK’S KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
America First Legal Demands Montgomery County Public Schools Comply with Federal Law Protecting Parental Rights to Review Curriculum
AFL has demanded that Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) stop stonewalling parents and comply with the federal Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), which guarantees parents the right to see exactly what their children are being taught in school. Instead of complying with the PPRA, MCPS incorrectly processed a parent’s PPRA request as one seeking information under the Maryland Public Information Act. In doing so, MCPS buried the parent’s request to review the school’s “Family Life and Human Sexuality” curriculum in bureaucratic red tape, imposing delays and fees to dodge transparency. MCPS converted this parent’s federally protected parental right into a discretionary public records request, undermining the intent of Congress and conflicting with federal law.
AFL’s letter to MCPS is unequivocal. Congress made it crystal clear: any school taking federal money must provide parents timely, no-cost access to instructional materials—especially on sensitive topics. AFL’s letter seeks MCPS to reclassify the request under the PPRA, provide full access to all materials, and fix its procedures so parents will not be forced to battle bureaucratic hurdles. AFL’s letter to MCPS reinforces AFL’s commitment to defending parental rights and educational transparency, and encourages parents facing similar obstruction to come forward.

America First Legal Takes Critical Step Forward, Files Motion for Summary Judgment in Landmark Lawsuit Challenging the 2020 Census
AFL took a major step forward in its landmark lawsuit challenging the Census Bureau’s unlawful manipulation of the 2020 Census, filing a motion for summary judgment on behalf of our clients, including Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida. While the United States Census must count real people, the Census Bureau unlawfully used the “Group Quarters Method” and “Differential Privacy” in 2020 in violation of the Constitution and federal law. The statistical model inflated population numbers—particularly in left-leaning Northeastern states—ultimately costing states like Florida the congressional seats they rightfully earned.
This lawsuit seeks to invalidate the flawed 2020 Census and block the Bureau from repeating these methods in 2030, instead requiring a corrected census report that accurately restores proper representation. AFL will not stand by as the rule of law is abused. This fight is essential to safeguarding election integrity and ensuring that no American’s voice is silenced by bureaucratic or political manipulation.

Fox News: Blue school district hit with federal complaint alleging it 'sidestepped' law depriving parent of transparency
“In a letter sent to Montgomery County Public Schools and the Department of Education’s Civil Rights Division, America First Legal alleges that a parent in the school district, Mom’s For Liberty director of development Rosalind Hanson, submitted a request to inspect her child’s school curriculum, in accordance with the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment, and that MCPS staff ‘incorrectly processed’ the request ‘rather than following the PPRA’s federally mandated parental inspection procedures.’
America First Legal has placed a heavy emphasis on the rights of parents through PPRA and unveiled a toolkit earlier this year aimed at helping parents understand their rights while equipping them with a template letter to send to schools requesting full transparency on what their children are being taught.”

America First Legal Senior Counsel, Andrew Block, joined Chanel Rion on One America News Network to discuss judicial activism, overreach, and impeachment.
“We have a system of checks and balances that we all learn in grade school...
Judges are supposed to rule on cases and controversies before them... not haul in executive officers for daily reporting.”
"America First Legal added Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) on Wednesday as a plaintiff to a lawsuit against the U.S. Census Bureau in an amended complaint."
