After the government shutdown ended with zero relief for the cost of living crisis millions of Americans face, it’s never been more clear that Democrats must take the House majority.
It’s hard to believe, but we’re only weeks from the start of the election year. Here’s what you need to know:
- Proposition 50 overwhelmingly passed in California. Voters said no to extreme GOP gerrymandering, and with the maps now redrawn, the landscape in our race is changing. 30% of my district will include tens of thousands of new voters who need to hear my message -- 177,127 to be exact!
- While Prop 50 made many Democratic seats safer, political experts at Sabato’s Crystal Ball still rank CA-49 as one of the most competitive races nationwide. We can’t take anything for granted.
- My Republican opponent is one of the most prolific fundraisers in the country. We expect that to translate into a flurry of new attacks in the new year, and need to prepare to push back right now.
I’m refusing support from corporate PACs, because I’m more interested in doing right by CA-49 than any special interests. But that means I rely on small-dollar donations from supporters like you. Will you chip in $3 ahead of our end-of-month deadline?
