John, 2025 has not been easy. Donald Trump and Republicans have done everything they can to drag our country closer to authoritarianism.

But, 2025 has also been a year of unprecedented resistance and has contained small victories that have kept us from the brink.
* Trump wanted to gerrymander his way to a House majority in 2026. Democrats answered the call in California to counteract Republicans’ gerrymandering and even the playing field.
* Trump enacted his extreme agenda, which proved so unpopular that Democrats had unprecedented victories in this year’s elections.
* Trump tried to use military and police forces against the people he is sworn to serve, so millions of pro-democracy fighters have taken to the streets to protest and declare, ‘There are no kings in America.’

Although Trump and Republicans have caused immense struggle, suffering, and harm we have not relented. At every step, we have spoken up and resisted.

And, we are just getting started.

We are just 40 days away from 2026 - an election year where we have the chance to take control of Governor’s seats, state legislatures, the House, and the Senate. This is our one shot to end Trump’s reign of terror and step back from the brink of authoritarianism.
