The presidential race is dominating our news feeds, but transforming our government doesn’t end with Donald Trump. Winning the White House is important, but almost nothing in the federal government is achievable without a Democratic Senate.

Without the majority, forget Democrats passing legislation or confirming key positions like Supreme Court justices; Democratic senators won’t even get to bring things to the floor to vote. A Democratic president will have their hands tied by the Senate, unable to correct the damage inflicted by four years under Trump.

The Senate is incredibly important, and incredibly flippable. Four seats stand in our way, and there are eight vulnerable Republican senators up for re-election this November—the numbers are in our favor. So we’re raising $1 million over the next two months for the eight Democrats running in the closest Senate races. Think of the possibilities with a Democratic Senate. Equal access to affordable health care so no one has to choose between medicine and rent. Sensible gun violence prevention legislation so kids feel safe in school. Compare that to Mitch McConnell and his Republican Senate who have killed over 100 progressive bills since 2016 and won’t even pass the second round of COVID relief.

A Democratic Senate is within our reach. Look at some of our targets: Susan Collins is one of the most unpopular Senators in the entire country. There are not one but two seats up for grabs in Georgia. Iowa Democrat Theresa Greenfield is winning back rural voters. These races are flippable, we just have to give them all we’ve got.

We have two months to hit our $1 million goal. Money is most effective at key points in the election cycle, and the next two months are such a time.
