Friend — in the days that followed our election, I’ve been filled with an immense amount of gratitude for our movement, and for every single person that played a part in our victory – and I’ve never felt more ready to hit the ground running for our state.
The work to make life easier and more affordable for New Jersey families has already started. I’ve spent these past weeks laying the groundwork for the better future we will build together:
- All across New Jersey, I’ve heard from community leaders and New Jersey families about how we can immediately start to make our state government more transparent and effective.
- In Trenton, I met with leaders on both sides of the aisle to discuss how we can bring everyone to the table in our shared goal for a better, more affordable New Jersey.
- In Newark, I joined volunteers to support families hurt by Donald Trump’s illegal cuts to SNAP benefits — so that as many parents as possible would be able to put food on the table for their kids.
- In Livingston, I celebrated Veterans Day alongside my fellow servicemembers who bravely risked their lives to defend our freedoms.
Inauguration Day might not be until January 20, but with a big to-do list in front of us, our work starts right here, right now – and I couldn’t be more excited to get started.
With gratitude,
Mikie
