Friend,

Due to COVID-19, Tax Day 2020 was postponed to July 15, meaning today is the last day to file and pay your 2019 taxes without penalty, or file an extension or set up a payment plan.

While taxpayers might be focused on what they need to do today, it's also a good time to remind Kansans what Tax Day under a President Biden would look like.

In 2017, Republicans in Congress and President Trump led the charge to lower taxes for all Americans. We did this by reducing rates, increasing the standard deduction, and expanding the Child Tax Credit. This didn't just put money back in the pockets of hardworking Americans – it jumpstarted the economy.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 drastically changed our healthy economy, but I'm confident that had we not enacted pro-growth policies, the outlook would be much worse.

However, that's exactly where Joe Biden will take us.

He's publicly stated that his first act as president would be to role back Republicans' tax cuts.

That means raising YOUR taxes. Instead of offering solutions to help you during a pandemic, he's talking about taking more away from families already stretched too thin.

We've got to make sure that Joe Biden and his pals Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer DON'T have the power to take more of your hard-earned money on Tax Day 2021.

Sincerely,

Rep. Ron Estes
