LACOFD INITIATING AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION INTO THE REPORTED THREE-HOUR DELAY BEFORE EVACUATION ORDERS WERE SENT FOR WEST ALTADENA
Los Angeles, CA - County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone shares the following statement:
"The County of Los Angeles Fire Department is initiating an independent investigation into the reported three-hour delay before evacuation orders were sent for west Altadena. While the County believes the timelines presented in the McChrystal and the newly-released FSRI after action reviews are consistent, there are ongoing questions that remain regarding the reported delay in evacuation orders being sent. Fire is working with County Counsel to immediately identify an appropriate and independent firm and/or subject matters experts who can perform this investigation."
