Friend,

Dean's name is on the ballot right now, in the congressional primary for Minnesota's 3rd District.

This means a few things:

* Voters in the 3rd District can vote for Dean in person or by mail now through August 11.

* We'll be filing new fundraising numbers with the Federal Election Commission a week from today -- what's called a pre-primary financial disclosure -- and those numbers will show the campaign finance world how strong we are.

* This race is going to heat up as Republicans unite behind their likely candidate, who's had national Republicans join him online and in Minnesota for big-dollar fundraisers.

We've set a goal of raising $10,000 from grassroots donors before the July 22 public FEC deadline. Will you chip in today so we can make a strong showing on our FEC report before the primary?

We know we just asked you to help get us to our end-of-quarter goal. But, Dean doesn't take any money from PACs, lobbyists, special interests, or even other members of Congress. Not a penny. If he did, he could raise $10,000 over lunch.

That's not his style -- and it's one of many reasons why I'm proud to be on this team. We're running a campaign powered by grassroots supporters like you, and proving to the country we can do things differently.

If you want to give Dean a boost before his primary and send him back to Congress next year, contribute a few dollars toward our official $10,000 goal today.
