A message from Dr. Una S.T. Clarke on Yvette’s birthday
Friend,
Today, my daughter, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, celebrates another year of life, and another year of tireless service to the people of Brooklyn and our nation.
As a mother, there is few joys greater than watching your child live their purpose.
From her earliest days, Yvette has led with heart. She’s never been afraid to speak truth to power, to fight for families who’ve been ignored, and to stand firm when doing so wasn’t easy. That courage is not new; it’s who she’s always been.
And as she continues her work as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, I could not be prouder of the woman, leader, and daughter she has become.
Yvette Clarke is the ONLY Black woman representing New York in Washington. As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, she’s brought together moderates and progressives to pass legislation that helps communities of color, low-income families, immigrants, and more.
