Now that Democrats reopened the government, I’m excited to share more about my recent, bipartisan work to support Iowa ag. 

Iowa and America’s farmers are currently being squeezed by high input costs and low commodity prices, making it incredibly difficult to afford critical inputs like fertilizer. Family farmers in Iowa tell me they need greater price transparency and stability, so I teamed up with my Republican and Democrat colleagues to introduce bipartisan legislation to deliver just that by increasing visibility into the factors that drive costs and supply. 

What would this look like? The USDA would start working on the market forces driving these high input costs, price reporting, and other regulatory burdens our farmers may be experiencing. Iowa’s outstanding senators, Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley, are leading the companion bill in the Senate – we are unified in meaningfully lowering input costs for our farmers.  

This week, I also reintroduced my bipartisan PRECISE Act, which expands access to precision agriculture technologies through existing USDA conservation programs that farmers know and trust. 



I will continue fighting for our rural communities to ensure they have a fair shot to do what they do best: feed and fuel the world.

That’s because TP-Link – a popular option for wifi-enabled cameras and other smart devices – is a Chinese company that answers to the Chinese Communist Party. TP-Link devices are in countless American homes, and even some military bases.

Now why is this a big deal? Here’s the truth. The CCP doesn’t care about your privacy. They require companies operating in China to hand those sorts of rights over – meaning, all your data & information could be going directly to the CCP. 

I’m leading a bipartisan effort alongside Senator Joni Ernst to ensure we take steps to get compromised technology out of Americans’ homes and our military bases. Read more about this work here and stay tuned for more updates.

This week, I wanted to recognize the strength of America’s rural communities as Thursday marked National Rural Health Day! Thanks to the work and leadership of President Trump, we are refocusing on expanding access to quality, affordable care especially for rural Americans.

I’ve recently introduced several bills to improve prenatal care options and strengthen health care for Iowa families, including bipartisan legislation to ensure RNs can utilize their skills to the fullest amid a shortage of healthcare professionals in rural communities.
