It was a busy week back in Washington! The U.S. House passed two of my bills, one to depoliticize and streamline LNG exports and the other to counter terrorist organizations from weaponizing Generative AI. In addition, my resolution honoring the lives tragically lost in the July 4th floods also passed the U.S House. This week, I also voted to release the Epstein files, introduced a package of legislation to prevent former senior government officials from lobbying on behalf of foreign adversaries, had legislation move through committee, and joined Maria Bartiromo in person on Mornings with Maria. Below, you'll find photos and highlights from the week, plus information on how my office can assist you with any federal concerns. As always, if you need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best, My Vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act Transparency is the very heartbeat of a healthy government. Without it, trust in our institution fades. I voted yes on the Epstein Files Transparency Act because the American people deserve transparency and due process. I promised to vote to release the Epstein files, and I delivered on that promise this week. Our country deserves the truth. My Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act Passes the U.S. House I am thrilled that my legislation to slash red tape, streamline American LNG exports, and prevent a future LNG export ban like the one imposed by former President Biden passed through the U.S. House of Representatives this week. The Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act depoliticizes the export of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) by eliminating a duplicative requirement for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to authorize its export. This gives the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) sole authority over the approval process, which provides producers certainty, strengthens global security, and lowers costs for domestic consumers. The passage of my legislation is another major victory in achieving American energy dominance. It's simple: Exporting American LNG strengthens our economy, stabilizes prices, drives much-needed investment in energy infrastructure, and bolsters the energy security of our global partners. Countering Foreign Adversarial Influence in America This week, I introduced a package of bills to counter foreign adversarial influence in America. The package includes three critical, bipartisan, bicameral bills that will prevent senior government officials from ever lobbying on behalf of an adversarial nation such as China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran. It is the bare minimum expectation that U.S. government employees work for the betterment of America, both during their service and long after it. Yet far too often, we see individuals leave government only to lobby on behalf of foreign adversaries who wish to see America fail. This is a dangerous flaw in the incentive structure for those serving at the highest levels of government, and we must fix it to prevent foreign entities from gaining influence from within. By permanently banning former senior government officials from lobbying for countries of concern, closing FARA loopholes, and stripping security clearances from any former Department of War (DOW) personnel who lobby for China, these commonsense measures move us one step closer to ensuring that those in Washington are here to serve America, not undermine it. Honoring Those Who Perished in the July 4th Floods The tragedy our state endured on July 4th, 2025, was unimaginable, and we must never forget the innocent lives lost. Earlier this year, I joined Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) in introducing a resolution honoring those who didn’t make it home and recognizing the extraordinary bravery and selflessness of the heroes who stepped up when they were needed most. While nothing can ever bring loved ones back, we must honor their life and legacy for years to come, and that is precisely what this resolution does. I am thankful that my colleagues in the U.S. House voted to pass it this week, and I will continue to pray for every single person and community that was impacted. Generative AI Terrorism Act Passes U.S. House I spent two decades as a fighter pilot, flying combat missions in the Middle East against terrorist organizations. Since then, I have witnessed the terror landscape evolve into a digital battlefield shaped by the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. To confront this emerging threat and stop terrorist organizations from weaponizing AI to recruit, train, and inspire attacks on U.S. soil, I am proud that the House passed my Generative AI Terrorism Risk Assessment Act this week. While my uniform has changed, my mission to protect the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic, has not. From the cockpit to serving as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, I know how critical it is for our policies and capabilities to keep pace with the threats of tomorrow. I joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business live from the nation's capital to discuss my bill, the Unlocking Our Domestic Potential LNG Act. During the interview, we also discussed my legislative package to prevent senior government officials from ever lobbying for our adversaries and the Department of Homeland Security's 'Operation Charlotte's Web.' Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act This week, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology advanced my bipartisan bill, the Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act. The bill would require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to submit a comprehensive plan to Congress within 180 days detailing how the agency will track permit applications for deploying broadband on federal lands. By streamlining projects to expand broadband access, this bill will help close the digital divide for communities in rural America. I am thrilled about its movement through committee this week, and look forward to getting it over the finish line. Watch my remarks in support of the bill here or by clicking the image below.
