 CodeRED Emergency Notification Service Interruption
Due to a cybersecurity incident, we are experiencing an interruption of service impacting our CodeRED emergency notification system. The City uses this service to send mass or targeted emergency alerts, such as severe weather warnings, drinking water contamination, and other emergencies where residents need to be made aware quickly for life safety. Our vendor is working diligently to resolve this issue. We are unsure of the timeline for when this service will resume. We understand the importance of timely notifications. During this waiting period, residents are encouraged to monitor local media through TV, radio, and mobile apps, and enable Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on mobile devices to receive national and local alerts. The City will also use our e-newsletter to send emergency communications outside of weather alerts. Make sure you are signed up to receive this communication via email or text by visiting hursttx.gov/getconnected. We will share updates through our communication channels as we learn more information.
We also want to reassure our CodeRED subscribers that we have confirmed with our vendor that personal information was not compromised.
