John,
I know you’re used to emails like these asking you to donate, but I’m not reaching out today to ask you for money. Instead, I wanted to fill you in on what I’ve been doing in Congress.
I’ve been doing what I can to crack down on the utility companies jacking up rates for Upstate New Yorkers. In April, after costs continued to rise and constituents reached out to share their concerns, I launched an investigation into how utility companies set prices. Last month, I also went to the Public Service Commission hearing in Oneonta to speak out against NYSEG’s rate hikes.
This month, I joined other members of Congress to call on the United States Trade Representative to strengthen labor standards and support local workers. For too long, we’ve shipped good manufacturing jobs overseas. Now, it’s time for us to keep these jobs here and start making stuff in Upstate New York again.
I just sent letters to UnitedHealth Group, Humana, and CVS Health to find out why they’re cutting Medicare Advantage plans for seniors in Upstate New York. Folks have relied on these plans for years, and it’s unfair that these corporations and insurance companies can decide to stop coverage on a whim.
John, Upstate New Yorkers sent me to Congress to fight for them. That’s what I’ve been doing in Washington, but our race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the country next year, and Republicans are targeting my seat, so we’re in for a tough fight.
Will you show your support by endorsing my re-election campaign today?
