Left-wingers like to call Republicans racists and white supremacists. Just two years ago, a Democrat state senator here even called Republicans white supremacists and terrorists on the Senate Floor.

It’s not just something they began with President Trump; Republicans who have been around for a while will remember smears against George Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and many more. They don’t care about the lack of evidence; they do it because it is easy and emotional.

What interests me is that the real party of racists is not ours. It’s the Democrats. Look at Margaret Sanger, the founder of what became Planned Parenthood. Sanger was an ardent believer in eugenics – the discredited idea that we can improve humanity by weeding out people with undesirable traits.

Some of her quotes are horrifying:

“We don’t want word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”
“Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need… we must prevent multiplication of this bad stock.”
“Birth control must ultimately lead to a cleaner race.”

Democrats are the party of Planned Parenthood and the abortion movement that followed from Margaret Sanger’s work.

In Minnesota, Democrats two years ago stripped away virtually all commonsense abortion protections. For example, they legalized abortion up to the moment of birth and eliminated life-saving care for babies who survive an abortion. An early version of their abortion bill even eliminated a requirement to notify parents if a minor seeks an abortion. That provision didn’t make the final bill, but a 2022 Ramsey County Court ruled parental notification is unenforceable anyway.
