Donald Trump just called for my death and arrest.
Why? Because I spoke a simple truth: no service member is forced to follow an illegal order. The oath to the Constitution is sacred, one that I first swore as a 17-year old at the Naval Academy, and binds us all to the rule of law.
That's why I will not be intimidated by Donald Trump and his calls for violence against me.
Donald Trump doesn't scare me, but a historic Democratic House majority slapping the brakes on his out-of-control administration sure seems to scare him.

I took the oath in the Navy, and I took it again when I was elected to Congress.
That oath doesn’t expire—and I’ll be damned if Donald Trump, a man who tried to overthrow our government on January 6, 2021, tells me how to serve this country.
So Trump can threaten me, call for my arrest, and even try to incite violence against me, but he can’t scare me into abandoning my oath.
