Happy Thanksgiving!
Wishing all Coloradans a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones. This holiday is a great opportunity to take stock of so much that we have to be grateful for as Coloradans. We can celebrate our Colorado pride and enjoy delicious Colorado-grown ingredients in our favorite Thanksgiving dishes, while stepping up to lend a hand to those in need in the true Colorado Way. - Jared Polis

Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, I visited the

Village Exchange Center , an Aurora non-profit that supports families in the community with a range of services from food access to vaccination clinics, workforce development and housing assistance. I dropped off a food donation which was collected at our state’s

Third Annual Turkey Pardon and throughout the week. I want to thank everyone who participated in our food drive, along with the hardworking, dedicated team at the Village Exchange Center.

This holiday season, Coloradans are stepping up in our communities to support families and children. Due to recent federal instability of food access through SNAP, food banks and pantries, like the one at the Village Exchange, are more important than ever for our communities. I was proud to see their work firsthand and thank staff working around the clock to keep Coloradans fed, and I encourage all Coloradans to find a way to give back this Thanksgiving season.

Celebrating Colorado Students’ Achievements in Math

I visited Charles Hay World School in Englewood where I heard from students and teachers about the implementation of Zearn, an online digital math accelerator tool we are providing free to schools, and how it is helping improve math achievement.

Zearn is modernizing the way Colorado students learn math and creating impressive results. This platform is empowering learning through technology, and setting students up for success in math. I'm thrilled to see districts continuing to take advantage of this tool to drive math achievement.

I recently

submitted a balanced budget proposal to the Joint Budget committee, which includes a request for $2 Million to help districts buy and utilize this resource. I

first announced Zearn in 2023 as a tool for educators to support Colorado students with after-school programming, evidence-based math best practices, and teacher training and support.
