Team, Health care experts are sounding the alarm on the impacts President Trump’s “One, Big Beautiful Bill” will have on New Mexico families come January. The bill guts reimbursements from Medicaid. At the end of the year, certain Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits are also set to expire. That means that over 60,000 New Mexicans who benefit from these ACA tax credits could lose crucial coverage, or be forced to pay exorbitant amounts to keep it. As I’m writing this, people are seeing their premiums jacked up by hundreds of dollars. Trump and Republicans’ cruelty will force families to choose between missing doctor’s appointments or putting food on the table. But their cruelty is the point, and it’s why I wake up every morning ready to fight for affordable health care.
