TELL CONGRESS:
Trump is backing an effort to undermine state regulations on AI tech. He wants to stop any safety oversight of Big Tech companies. Now, Ted Cruz and other Trump loyalists in Congress are making this a top priority.
Sign the petition: Urge lawmakers to oppose Big Tech’s dangerous AI legislation!
Trump is pressuring Republicans in Congress to back legislation that punishes states for regulating AI.1 It would hand Big Tech CEOs a “sweetheart deal” to develop this dangerous technology without guardrails.2 Artificial intelligence technologies are extraordinarily powerful. AI is pushing people to mental health crises, throwing health care into chaos, posing risks to the financial system, and discriminating against people in the hiring process. Big Tech corporations are letting their AI tech run rampant throughout society, no matter the disastrous effects. Trump wants to hand over even more power to companies developing AI, joining a push that Ted Cruz has been leading for months. Now, Republicans in Congress are making this Big Tech giveaway a top priority. Sign the petition: Oppose the Trump-Cruz push to deregulate AI!This AI preemption measure would override state laws that aim to address the dangers of AI related to child safety, civil liberties, discrimination, harassment, financial scams, and much more. Trump and Cruz want to put corporate CEOs and Big Tech profits ahead of the public. There’s no other explanation for legislation that entrusts consumer protection to the very corporations that are recklessly implementing AI technologies with zero concern for their social or environmental impacts. America needs stronger safety measures for AI technologies, not this Trump-Cruz all-out deregulation. We’ve joined more than 250 organizations urging Congress to oppose this ban on state AI laws. Now, we need a wave of constituents to tell their lawmakers to protect the public from the dangers of AI. Sign the petition: Oppose dangerous giveaways to the Big Tech companies controlling AI technology. Thanks for taking action,
