Friend, I want to share an update on where we stand on the health care fight out in Washington:
President Trump is saying he won't even back a GOP-led effort to save Obamacare subsidies, and calling it a "waste" of time.
This makes me sick to my stomach. This is why I voted no on the deal to reopen the government. As it stands, nearly 300,000 Coloradans are facing skyrocketing health care costs.
I have always been a champion for more affordable and accessible health care. Fifteen years ago, I cast the deciding vote for the Affordable Care Act – and I made it clear I would do so even if it cost me my Senate seat.
That's a big part of why I'm running to be our next governor – so is there any way I can convince you to give $5 or more to help me get a head start on reaching my $30,000 end-of-month goal ahead of time?
Because what if I told you that with Trump's spineless allies running Washington, the strongest resistance to their reckless agenda will come from the states?
What if I told you that Colorado can lead the nation forward – showing that affordable health care is possible, regardless of whether Trump likes it?
What if I told you that as governor, I'll fight like hell to make health care – including mental health care – accessible for everyone who calls Colorado home?
And what if I told you that to do all of the above, I first need the resources to win this race – so reaching my $30,000 end-of-month goal by 11:59 p.m. next Sunday night is nonnegotiable for this people-powered campaign?
Well, I only ask, friend, because it's the honest truth.
So if you're able, can you please pitch in $5, $25 or anything right now to help me bring home the fight as our next governor? Unlike Trump, I'll work every day to bring a brighter, healthier future within reach for every Coloradan – and not just the wealthiest few.
