John, as we get closer to Thanksgiving, I can't help but picture what it would be like if my dad were still here: carving the turkey, laughing with his grandkids, and filling the room with his warmth and joy.
But my father, Robert Godwin Sr., was shot and killed walking to my house for dinner seven years ago — a senseless, random act of brutality that has impacted my family forever.
That one act of gun violence is the reason why l still have an empty seat at my table on holidays and during our Sunday family meals. I carry that loss with me every single day.
But in the face of my grief, I've found gratitude — for the work I get to do with Brady and for the incredible community of people like you, John, who support us in the fight to end gun violence.
Because of your support, Brady is blocking illegal gun sales, defending life-saving laws, and fighting for policies that will prevent other families from enduring the heartbreak mine has. And now, a generous donor has agreed to match ALL donations up to Brady's goal of $200,000. So as we approach Thanksgiving, I'm asking: Will you make a donation to Brady today, double your impact, and help us save lives?

Every family deserves to have their loved ones around the table. Your matched gift will ensure that our fight for gun safety continues — in Congress, in the courts, and in communities across the country.

Thank you for standing with us and for being a part of this movement.
