John,
I wanted to personally reach out to say thank you. Over the last few weeks
my campaign has been raising funds to buy meals for families in need at
the White Center Food Bank here in Seattle.
When we first launched this initiative, we set a goal of raising $2,500 to
buy 1,000 meals before Thanksgiving. And within 24 hours, we had already
exceeded that original goal.
So then we set a new one: $9,000 to buy 3,600 meals before Thanksgiving.
And thanks to the incredible generosity of this grassroots community,
we’ve just met our new goal.
That means thousands of people right here in Seattle will be receiving
meals this holiday season as a result of your support.
It means a lot to me to know that we can make such a big difference in our
community together. There aren’t many members of Congress who use their
campaigns to raise funds for community aid initiatives like this, but to
me, that’s what grassroots organizing is all about.
So thank you again, John, for
your support. And if you’re looking for even more ways to help, make sure
to stay tuned for news on another initiative we’ll be launching this
winter!
