We’re excited to share some big news: We won the Shorty Impact Award’s Large Nonprofit of the Year! This award recognizes our outstanding creativity, innovation, and engagement across all our digital work.

Besides taking home the “Of the Year” award, our work was specifically recognized in three categories:

  • Instagram (Winner): Our Instagram took home the top award, honoring the reach and engagement of our channel and the quality and impact of our content. In the past year, we grew our audience by more than 41,000 followers, increased engagement by 2,767%, and reached over 22 million views.

  • Medium Length Video (Gold Honor): We won Gold for our bilingual video with renowned illustrator Molly Crabapple, which offers a big picture look at our immigration system, asking how we got to our present moment and who benefits from keeping the public divided. It has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

  • Immigration & Refugees (Silver Honor): Our video also received Silver in the Immigration & Refugees category, recognizing our broader fight for justice, dignity, and rights for immigrant communities.

Thanks to your votes, we also won the Audience Honor in all three categories. Your support means the world to us and shows the strength of the NILC community. ❤️
