Content Warning: This email discusses the death penalty
On Monday night, the Supreme Court issued a 5-4 decision that paved the way for the first federal execution in 17 years.
The Supreme Court’s decision and the subsequent execution have made it clear — once again — that my bill to end the death penalty needs to be brought to the House floor for a vote immediately.

The death penalty is a draconian, cruel, and unjust practice that has no place in our society. State-sanctioned murder is not justice. The death penalty, which kills Black and Brown people disproportionately, does absolutely nothing to make our communities or our country safer.
I need you with me in this fight for justice. This practice must end, and the only way to make progress on this vitally important issue is by raising our collective voices, organizing together, and demanding an end to this regressive and unconscionable punishment.
Sign on to become a grassroots co-sponsor of my legislation to finally end the death penalty on the federal level.
Thank you for making your voice heard. Together we will keep up the fight to transform our criminal injustice system.
In solidarity,
Ayanna Pressley
