General Assembly Kicks Off 2026 Legislative Session

This week I gathered with fellow legislators at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes on Jan. 5. By state law, the 2026 session will conclude on or before March 14.

This year, I am focused on advancing key priorities like boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life in our rural communities. I look forward to returning to the Statehouse and getting to work on passing meaningful legislation that will make a positive impact on Hoosiers.

As the 2026 session gets underway, I encourage you to contact me with any questions or comments you may have. I can be reached by filling out a Contact Me form online or by phone at 800-382-9467.

Be Prepared for Winter Road Conditions

As the temperatures get colder, it's important to remember important driving tips in winter weather.

Please remember to clear windows before driving, inspect tires and windshield wipers, and allow plenty of time to get to your destination.

The Indiana Department of Transportation also offers a Trafficwise map, which includes up-to-date road and traffic information throughout the year.
