Serving Pennsylvania's 2nd District

Friend,

After conservatives shut down the House of Representatives for more than six weeks, I returned to Washington this week to protect health care for hundreds of thousands of our neighbors and to tackle the skyrocketing cost of living. The President’s tariff policies are driving up prices on everyday essentials, and health care for millions of Americans is now at risk because of conservative attacks on the Affordable Care Act.

I want to hear from you: Where have you seen prices rise the most?

Our nation is in a cost-of-living crisis. Beef prices have gone up 11.5 percent, and coffee has gone up 15 percent since President Trump took office (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Electricity costs are skyrocketing across Pennsylvania, with some of our neighbors paying hundreds of dollars every month. Health care costs are also rising: the average family covered by Pennie, Pennsylvania’s Affordable Care Act exchange, will pay 102% more for their health care — if Republicans refuse to extend health care tax credits.

Rising costs are back-breaking for businesses and our neighbors. Far too many of our neighbors are forced to decide between building their future and surviving the week. Instead of saving for vacation, retirement, or their children’s education, too many Pennsylvanians are struggling to pay rent, put food on their table, or go to the doctor.

This is unacceptable. Every Pennsylvanian deserves the freedom to build the life they want — not to be stuck paying the price for chaotic policies in Washington. I won’t stop fighting to make life more affordable for working people.

Sincerely,
