Hi John,
I wanted to take a moment to share something that makes me incredibly proud -- not just as a school board member, but as a lifelong resident of California’s Central Valley.
This week, Visalia Unified announced its graduation rate has climbed to an incredible 92% -- a milestone years in the making.
That number represents more than just statistics. It shows what’s possible when we invest in our students, empower our educators, and build community partnerships.
Visalia Unified Hits 92% Graduation Rate
“These numbers represent more than progress. They represent partnership. Learning doesn’t happen in isolation. It thrives when students are empowered, families are engaged, and communities are connected,”

These achievements didn’t happen by accident -- they reflect years of work, advocacy, and investment from our school board and community. Here are just a few highlights:
- Over 13,500 students supported with extended learning programs
- Over 300 students placed in internships
- Significant upgrades to classroom technology and learning environments
As a member of the Visalia Unified School Board, I’ve been proud to champion investments in afterschool programs, classroom modernization, and stronger community partnerships that help students succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
But I’m not stopping there.
I’m running for Congress to continue fighting for public education -- for federal funding that truly reflects the needs of our students, and for working families who deserve more than what they’ve been given by politicians who’ve sold out to special interests.
Thank you for believing in this work and this movement.
In solidarity,
Randy Villegas
