As we observe Trans Day of Remembrance, we at Trevor are deeply moved by the significance of this day. We want to first take this moment to honor the lives of transgender people who have tragically been taken from us, whether through violence or suicide. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the trans community — challenges that none should have to endure.

The findings from our 2025 Longitudinal Study (Project SPARK) reveal a harsh reality: over half of transgender and nonbinary young people surveyed (53%) had seriously considered suicide in the past year, and 43% reported being physically threatened simply for being who they are. These are not just statistics — they represent real lives and loved ones who deserve safety, dignity, and respect.

While today is a time to honor those we have lost, it is also about celebrating the bravery of trans and nonbinary young people who navigate the world with authenticity and grace.
