From The New York Times → “Supreme Court Denies Request to Revisit Same-Sex Marriage Decision”
|
|
John, marriage equality is the law of the land.
So earlier this month when the Supreme Court respected that and refused to reopen their same-sex marriage decision – especially while Trump and his cronies constantly attack LGBTQIA+ rights – I was thrilled.
Love is love. Don’t f*ck with it. 🏳️🌈💪🩷

Back in 2013, when same-sex marriage was still illegal in Pennsylvania, I didn’t wait for permission. I threw on a nice shirt and officiated a gay wedding in Allegheny County because it was the right thing to do.
I caught heat for it – didn’t care then, don’t care now. Everyone deserves the same d*mn rights and freedoms.

In the Senate, I’ve backed the Equality Act, pushed to protect trans kids, and voted to defend LGBTQIA+ rights every chance I get. This fight is about real people – not cheap political points.

If you're with me in this fight to protect our LGBTQIA+ friends – especially our trans brothers and sisters these days – you can pitch in $5 or $25 using this link to help me keep up the fight against the spew of hateful bullsh*t.

If you're queer and live in PA – or anywhere in this country – I want you to know: I've got your back. Always. 🌈
