TAKE ACTION NOW: Tell your governor to refuse Trump’s illegal National Guard deployments >>
John, right now, every governor in the country – including in Pennsylvania – has a choice to make.
They can either do Donald Trump’s bidding and willingly send their own constituents halfway across the country to settle political scores – or they can refuse to comply in advance and hold firm for the National Guard’s mission of keeping people safe.
Across the country, Trump has already misused Guard units and federal agents against civilians – from firing tear gas at peaceful demonstrators to pepper balls being shot at pastors and bystanders. [1]
Some governors have pushed back. Too many haven’t. Trump is counting on their silence to keep expanding his reach.
Tell your governor: Don’t deploy. Don’t comply. Hold firm against Trump’s illegal National Guard orders >>
This is a defining test for federalism. If a president can override Congress, sideline governors, and commandeer state forces at will, then no one’s rights are secure.
The Constitution was written to prevent exactly this kind of concentrated power – the fact that this is even up for debate shows how far we’ve slipped towards dictatorship.
Your action can help put an end to Trump's illegal power grabs and make sure that our men and women in uniform are there when we need them for actual emergencies, instead of pulled into whatever the President's latest distraction is this week.
Take action: Demand your governor block Trump’s illegal deployments >>
Thanks for all you do,
