On Tuesday, the Texas Attorney General's office had taken official action against two school districts who have banned the Ten Commandments from their schools. Texas Ten Commandments Law requires the display of the Ten Commandments in public schools. This new law was signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott this past legislative session and went into effect September 1, 2025 but 11 school districts received an injunction from a federal district court to hold off on posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms until the resolution of litigation.

Unfortunately, a handful of Texas school districts will have to remove their Ten Commandments posters due to a federal judge's ruling on Tuesday.

Oral arguments are set for January, 2026. In practical terms, this means that Texas’s law to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms is not stalled or in limbo where school districts can ignore or delay implementation.

The Texas SBOE meets 5 times/year and began meeting Tuesday tasked with reviewing and revising social studies standards for K-12. Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values explains more about the process and how to get involved. Watch the clip above and the full video here. Mary Elizabeth also testified on Agenda Item 4 regarding Parental Rights Handbook which is currently being drafted.

Beginning Jan. 1st parents will be able to access all of their rights in one book. School Board members will also be required to receive training on school parental rights.

Having solid folks serve on a work group is crucial in making sure important historical facts are not removed from the Social Studies TEKS drafts! 

We'd like to encourage anyone in the Central Texas area who cares about our American and Texas Heritage and does not want to see woke materials in the TEKS to volunteer to serve on a workgroup. The best applicants will have some experience teaching history or Social Studies or has an educational background in these subjects.

A major legal victory has been announced in Texas that impacts every family in America! Jonathan Covey, Director of Policy for Texas Values is interviewed by Family Policy Alliance discussing the central role that he and Texas Values played in securing a significant legal win when the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals vacated a federal injunction against Senate Bill 12.

This is the Texas law designed to protect children from exposure to drag shows and “hyper sexualized performances." This ruling allows SB 12 to move forward, marking a meaningful step in the effort to safeguard children from inappropriate performances that have no place in front of kids!
