What matters is the motto I lived by in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment: Night Stalkers Don’t Quit.
We fly low and fast in the black of night so the best shooters on the planet can do their job. Over the course of nine combat tours, including deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq, I piloted the Apache attack helicopter, and then MH-47 Chinooks.
What I learned was this: true leadership emerges in the heat of battle. Decisions must be made to save lives and complete the mission – no matter the odds.
Right now, I have a new mission. The stakes are very different, but the future of the nation hangs in the balance.
On December 2nd, the House Special Election in TN-07 decides whether the Trump agenda moves forward, or is put on life support. House Republicans are barely clinging to their majority, and it's my job to hold the line. If we fail, things will get real ugly, real fast. I didn’t raise my right hand at West Point in 2001 as a member of the "Class of 9/11" and serve nine combat tours so America Last politicians could open our borders, fund endless wars, and crush the middle class under the weight of Big Government.
President Trump offered me his Complete and Total Endorsement, telling the people of my district: “Matt Van Epps is a WARRIOR who will never let you down.”
I’m running to prove him right.
