When MAGA came for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, they kicked the hornet’s nest.
But at first, Democrats brought a knife to a gun fight. Dems were caught off guard and unprepared for the aggressive tactics MAGA brought to the fight: Republican operatives were showing up at every county fair, every parade, every town hall and public event across PA.
Dems were asleep at the wheel, missing in action, caught unaware.
Outmatched and outgunned, Defend Our Courts worked to galvanize the Democratic base to rally to this fight—all while Trump demanded that the GOP rig the rules of the game to try and beat us before the Midterm even began.
In Texas, Republicans rammed through an aggressive gerrymander that would eliminate up to 5 Dem blue seats. Other GOP-controlled states followed suit—and it looked like PA could be next, if MAGA swept the supreme court races in November.
A perfect storm was brewing that would have resulted in a shocking GOP gerrymander of Pennsylvania, a scenario Democrats neither expected nor prepared for.
We defeated MAGA in PA in November. And now the courts have come to the rescue yet again: two federal judges just struck down Texas’ rigged map, delivering Trump a devastating blow.
