With the lessons learned from that experience, we formed Breach in 2020. We had a vision that many called too idealistic. Start a climate nonprofit during a global pandemic? Impossible! An organization with no hierarchy? Chaos! Build campaigns that bridge the divide between the climate and labor movements? Good luck!
Thankfully, we didn’t listen. We were steadfast in our resolve to achieve material improvements for ourselves and for our communities. We knew that the labor movement is vital in shaping a just energy transition. We knew what kind of organization we wanted to create, and we made it a reality.
Five years later, we still do what we believe in – naysayers be damned.
And the best part? It’s working. Our scheming and dreaming and hard work has paid off in a lot of wins. Over the coming weeks we’ll share highlights of Breach’s achievements this year, as well as the fights we’re gearing up for in 2026.
