This Saturday is National Adoption Day, and I want to take a moment to talk
about why it matters and why it connects directly to the work I’m doing in
Congress.
My belief is simple: Every child deserves a chance to live, and every mother
deserves real support. That principle has shaped my entire record—in the
Minnesota Senate and now in the U.S. House.
Being pro-life isn’t just about stopping abortion. It’s about making sure moms
and young families have what they need to choose life confidently. That
reflects in my record:
* The MOMS Act: Resources, counseling, and support for mothers before and
after birth.
* The HOPE Act: Help and information for women who want alternatives to
abortion.
* The Defund Planned Parenthood Act and the Protecting Life and Taxpayers Act
: directing taxpayer dollars away from abortion clinics and to providers who
support both mothers and babies.
* Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act: Ensuring that babies who
survive an abortion attempt receive full medical care.
Adoption Day is a powerful reminder of who we are fighting for and where more
work needs to be done.
That’s why I urge all those who value the sanctity of life to not just call
ourselves pro-life, but to back that up with action—supporting new and
expecting mothers, protecting babies, and promoting adoption.
As Co-Chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, I’ll keep working every day to build
a system where no mother feels alone, and no child is ever treated as
disposable.
