Annual Mass Posting of Seats
*November 20, 2025* — The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State (OSS) is providing notice that various state boards, councils, and committees are accepting applications to fill vacant seats.
This bulletin usually lists seats that started accepting applications within the prior week. Today we're glad to announce that *an additional 45 seats* began accepting applications this morning. These vacancies were created to fulfill a statutory requirement that OSS post all seats with terms ending in January of the upcoming year (Minn. Stat.15.0597, Subd. 4).
Minnesotans who apply for one of these seats within twenty-one days of this notice are assured full consideration by the appointing authority. Applications for seats posted today should be submitted by* December 11, 2025* to fall within that twenty-one day posting period.

* Board staff can answer questions about applying for a seat on their board.
* Appointing authorities are organizations that review applications and decide who to appoint to vacant seats.
* You may apply for a seat after the twenty-one-day posting period but keep in mind that an appointing agency may have finished reviewing applications by that time.
* Applications remain active for one year unless withdrawn by the applicant.
