As a reminder, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) distributed the below request for input on the agency’s Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR). The deadline for suggestions is Monday, December 1, 2025.
In preparation for the 90th Legislative Session that begins in January 2027, DFPS is beginning the process to develop its LAR. The LAR’s significance is substantial, as it will outline the agency’s funding needs for fiscal years 2028 through 2029. DFPS will submit its LAR to the Texas Legislature in August 2026.
