Earlier this week, I called on Donald Trump to release the transcript of his phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after the brutal murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Here’s what the Trump White House fired back:

The Hill: The White House dismissed Vindman's call for the transcript.
'Vindman is a bitter back-bencher who nobody takes seriously. He is a serial liar and was part of the hoax relating to the perfect Ukraine call, in which the Ukrainian president said so himself,' White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement to The Hill.

Throughout my entire career, I’ve stood up for truth and accountability.

Six years ago, I risked my 25-year military career to blow the whistle on Trump. Not for politics. Not for attention. But because the President tried to extort an American ally for his personal gain. Staying silent would have betrayed the country that gave my family everything.

And now, I’m speaking out again, knowing it puts an even bigger target on my back. Especially since Trump has made it his mission to punish me and to drive me out of Congress.
