** New, Updated, and Translated Materials, Flores Rule Finalized, and the Return of Public Charge 101
------------------------------------------------------------
We want to thank all of our partners and supporters for the INCREDIBLE work that you have been doing again over the past few weeks! The fight against public charge continues, and the coverage of this issue has been non-stop. Last Tuesday, Attorneys General for New York, Connecticut and Vermont filed a lawsuit ([link removed]) to block Trump's public charge rule arguing that the new rule "intentionally discriminates against Latino immigrants and immigrants of color." This brings the count of lawsuits against the rule up to five.

** UPCOMING WEBINAR
------------------------------------------------------------
PUBLIC CHARGE 101
Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 1:00pm ET (10:00am PT)

In the past, the PIF Campaign produced a recurring webinar titled "Public Charge 101". In this webinar, we broke down the basics of the public charge rule, and provided updates on proposed changes to the public charge test as we knew it. We haven't held a 101 webinar in a few months, but we're bringing it back. Now more than ever, it's important to stay informed on the issue and how to fight back. Our next Public Charge 101 webinar will be on Thursday, September 5th, at 1:00pm ET.

** FLORES RULE
------------------------------------------------------------

Last week, the Trump administration published the final Flores rule to the Federal Register ([link removed]) . This regulation removes protections from the settlement agreement in Flores v. Reno, which requires minimum safety and custody standards for children in immigrant detention and requires that children be released within 20 days. NILC ([link removed]) and CLASP ([link removed]) - along with many other organizations - issued statements in opposition. The rule is scheduled to take effect in 60 days, but must be reviewed by the federal judge who oversees the settlement agreement. The Center for American Progress has published a new report analyzing how the new rule is inconsistent with the terms of the Flores settlement: 3 Reasons Why
the New Flores Rule Does Not Pass Legal Muster ([link removed]) .

We will update you all very soon!
