Dear Friend,
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. It is a day when we come together as a community to mourn and honor the memory of our trans friends and family who have lost their lives due to violence and hate.
This somber day reminds us of all of the work left to do; a day to steel our resolve until each of us can live our authentic lives without fear or danger; a day to vow not to rest until 100% acceptance of our community is realized. The cost of falling short of our goal is simply too great.
For those looking for a space to gather, reflect, and be in community with others, GLAAD has joined Advocates for Trans Equality and other LGBTQ organizations in hosting a virtual event: "Give Them Their Flowers: A Trans Community Gathering," tonight, November 20th, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST.

This is an opportunity to come together to honor those we have lost and to find strength in community.
Register to attend today. ([link removed])
Let us remember the lives of all of the trans souls we have lost in the past year. And let us work toward a future where this event is no longer necessary because all trans people are accepted and loved.
With respect and remembrance,
GLAAD
