Friend, it’s John King.
Believe me, I know that frivolous lawsuits, fraud, and abuse in the insurance industry don’t always make for riveting conversation.
But I talk about all three because they have a huge impact on auto insurance rates.
Since I became Insurance Commissioner, we’ve arrested and charged hundreds of fraudsters.
We’ve cracked down on abuse by fining insurance companies more than $42 million and recovering more than $100 million for Georgia families.
And working with Governor Kemp and the state legislature, we’ve helped pass a plan to level the playing field in courtrooms and end frivolous lawsuits.
The hard work is paying off. Yesterday, we announced that State Farm has cut its auto insurance rates by more than 10% over the last year.
That’ll save folks with State Farm policies in Georgia more than $400 million per year.
This is about affordability, fairness, and making sure Georgia families have a stable marketplace with plenty of options. We’re just getting started on this issue.
Thanks for standing with me,
