We believe passionately in the value of National Parks, and we want to see an exemplar new Park established which supports local communities, wildlife and cultural heritage for future generations.

The consultation runs until Monday 8th December and we want to make sure that as many people as possible contribute.

THE VALUE OF A NEW NATIONAL PARK

We believe that the new National Park will:

1. Conserve and protect important natural and cultural heritage
2. Protect and enhance natural assets
3. Stimulate the local economy
4. Create places of quiet enjoyment and tranquillity
5. Boost and encourage responsible access to the countryside

Since the last round of public consultation in 2024 a whole series of assessments have been produced on nature, the economy, equality, Welsh language and planning. These can all be reviewed as part of the consultation.

PRESERVING SPECIAL QUALITIES

North East Wales is full of stunning landscapes, communities, species and heritage all worthy of inclusion in the new National Park. The special qualities and history are clear to see if you’re lucky enough to spend some time exploring the area, and whether it’s in the north on Gronant Dunes or the Berwyn Range in the south, there’s plenty to treasure and protect for future generations.

We’ve highlighted just a few of the sites that make the new National Park a unique and exciting place to visit:
