Dear John,
“Let justice roll on like a river and righteousness like an ever flowing stream” (Amos 5:24)
Could your church further strengthen your commitment to social justice in 2026? We’re emailing to invite you to the launch of “26 in 26”, a joint project by Church Action on Poverty and Christian Aid.
We’ve produced an interactive poster resource for churches, suggesting 26 practical actions that your church could take next year, to deepen your understanding of a range of issues and to make regular action an ongoing part of your church life.
Churches have already started signing up, including Parson Cross at Mt Tabor Methodist Church in Sheffield. Pioneer minister Nick Waterfield there says:“We need to become a Just Church through our actions, and not just talk about it. As Nelson Mandela famously said: 'Do not look the other way; do not hesitate. Recognise that the world is hungry for action, not words'."
Some of the actions are very easy, some require a bit of thought and planning, but all are worthwhile.
Join us for the launch on zoom at 7pm on Thursday 27th November ([link removed]). We’ll talk a bit about the project, explain how to take part, and run through a few of the example ideas - and answer any questions you might have. We hope to see you there!
